The best growth vitamins are in your diet!

The best growth vitamins are in your diet!

A healthy and balanced diet is essential for healthy, strong and long hair.

- What do you think of growth vitamins?

Here is a question that was asked of me a few months ago.

I think these vitamins are selling a dream. I'm only the type to take pills when I'm against medications bought without medical supervision.

Not only do these vitamins not guarantee me an unwanted hair growth (on the face for example) but it is also possible to overdose which would negate the expected results.

I think that regular external care with good products and a healthy diet is the key to having amazing hair!

Given that these vitamins are present in most of the foods available to us, I don't see the point of gaining 1 cm with these vitamins when some Kaylabelles have gained 6 cm in 2 months thanks to the challenges!

A healthy and balanced diet is essential for maintaining healthy and strong hair growth.

Please note, this is not about buying all the foods listed below, but simply, when you do your shopping, you will know the benefits of the foods you put in your basket.

Here are some superfoods containing vitamins, minerals and proteins to incorporate into your diet.

  • Vitamin A (retinol) promotes strong hair growth. It is abundant in carrots, lettuce, corn, kale, spinach, chickpeas, apricots, mango, and melon.
  • Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) helps transfer iron to the scalp. It is found in citrus fruits and almost all fruits and vegetables.
  • Vitamin E protects hair follicles, stimulates the scalp, and strengthens hair. It is found in sunflower, olive, safflower, avocado, blackcurrant, bell pepper, herring, salmon, rye, chickpea, sesame, and almond oils.
  • Vitamin B3 (niacin) has a positive effect on cell renewal when absorbed internally. Foods containing it include: apricots, bananas, tomatoes, rye, barley, buckwheat, sesame seeds, peanuts, meat, herring, and salmon.
  • Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) promotes healthy blood circulation in the scalp and optimal nutrient absorption. It is found in sunflower seeds, shiitake mushrooms, yeast, rye, millet, and avocados.
  • Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) plays an important role in graying hair. It is found in calf's liver, potatoes, bananas, lentils, and spinach.

*Note that deficiencies can easily occur with smoking, alcohol, certain medications, or a diet rich in protein.

  • Vitamin B7 (biotin) strengthens hair roots and combats hair loss. It is found in egg yolks, milk, oats, yeast, cucumbers, and almonds.
  • Vitamin B9 (folic acid) promotes cell regeneration and therefore plays a key role in hair renewal. It is found in kidney beans, spinach, lentils, asparagus, avocados, broccoli, papayas, mangoes, oranges, bananas, yeast, rye, and chickpeas.
  • Copper promotes iron absorption, prevents thinning and brittle hair, and improves hair structure. It is found primarily in organ meats, sesame seeds, nuts, lentils, peas, and beans.
  • Iron promotes hair root growth. It is found in liver, yeast, quinoa, rye, chickpeas, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, and tomatoes.
  • Zinc is an essential trace element that protects and cares for the scalp, promotes hair growth, and the formation of new follicles. It is found primarily in lentils, mushrooms, walnuts, pecans, rye, chickpeas, tomatoes, and cheeses.
  • Proteins (very important because, as you know, curly hair needs a balance of moisture and protein) are the building blocks of keratin. They are found in potatoes, grains, soy, eggs, cheese, meat, and fish.

  • Article très interessant et très instructif. D’ailleurs je trouve qu’on sous estime l’importance dans l’univers de la beauté… le pouvoir des vitamines sur l’aspect de la peau ou les cheveux est largement sous côté !
