✅ To mix your masks, here is a list of ingredients you can use:
* Tip : Use your warm oil to pre-mix your masks before adding the warm liquid; this will give you a boosted, smooth, and lump-free mask!
For dilution:
- hot water
- hot hibiscus juice (bissap)
- aloe vera juice
- Okra juice (recipe in the files)
- warm ginger juice (not too hot to avoid irritating the scalp)
- coconut milk
- a herbal tea of mint, thyme, rosemary...
- the rest of your hair tea
- Rice water (yes, yes, when you wash your rice, keep the water for its smoothing properties 😉 )
- carrot juice
- the water you used to cook your potatoes (yes, yes, don't waste it, it's full of beneficial properties)
To enrich it, depending on what you have:
- one or two tablespoons of your usual detangler
- Okra face mask (recipe in the files)
- 1 teaspoon of ginger
- 1 teaspoon of hair serum with Indian powders.
- 1 egg (see post on protein)
- 1 avocado (see post on protein)
- 1 tablespoon of honey or molasses
- 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel
- 1 tablespoon of shea whipped cream
Once you've made your mixture, put on your shower cap or cellophane. You can leave it on for a minimum of 30 minutes or overnight. Rinse, moisturize... good job!
If possible, wash your mask once a week.
