Homemade Lemon and Turmeric Scrub

Homemade Lemon and Turmeric Scrub

Prepare this naturally brightening, moisturizing, and anti-blemish turmeric/lemon scrub at home.

The warmer weather is coming and it's essential to exfoliate.
Why? Because skin regenerates constantly, we accumulate a layer of dead skin that isn't removed by showering alone. Therefore, exfoliation is necessary to eliminate these dead cells and allow for optimal hydration. Here's an incredibly moisturizing lemon and turmeric scrub recipe that deeply cleanses the skin and leaves it feeling incredibly soft. The best part is that you probably already have all the ingredients in your kitchen to make this scrub at home and pamper yourself for free! ☺️

Step 1: Your ingredients
  • *100 grams of sugar
  • * 20 grams of coconut oil
  • * 10 grams of shea butter (or 1 tablespoon)
  • * 10 grams of jojoba oil (1 tbsp + 1 tsp) (can be substituted with another oil such as avocado or olive)
  • *1 tablespoon of alcohol
  • *1 pinch of turmeric (A tiny bit is enough)
  • *2 tablespoons of lemon juice
🌸 You can use your kaylabé balm to replace the shea butter and coconut oil in this recipe!

Shea butter is a treasure trove of benefits for your skin. It deeply moisturizes, nourishes, and protects. It is renowned for its healing, revitalizing, softening, and soothing properties. It's the most complete butter in terms of properties: it soothes the skin and moisturizes it for a long time. Every household should have shea butter at home.

Turmeric for a naturally radiant complexion

When used as a face mask, turmeric helps to:

    • reduce inflammation
    • to even out skin tone;
    • to fade pigment spots.

It is also credited with anti-blemish properties and with fighting certain diseases such as acne and eczema .

Sugar is an exfoliant that removes dead skin cells, promotes cell renewal, and stimulates microcirculation. It's perfect for achieving baby-soft skin.

Lemon is a beauty asset! An antioxidant, it contains vitamin C, citric acid, tannins and flavonoids.

He is known, among other things

To tighten skin pores, eliminate blackheads, reduce brown spots, tone mature skin, stimulate cell renewal and purify the skin.

Coconut oil is fantastic for moisturizing and softening skin. It contains an antibacterial agent, lauric acid, which helps control bacterial growth on the skin. Its healing and moisturizing properties will be amplified by the synergy of the other ingredients in this homemade mask.

    Step 2: Instructions

    1. Melt the coconut oil and shea butter using a double boiler method. To do this, add the ingredients to a medium-sized, metal (or glass, but not plastic) mixing bowl, and place the bowl in a pan of hot water.

    2. Once the coconut oil and shea butter have melted, transfer the bowl to the refrigerator or an ice bath.

    3. Once the mixture is opaque, and there is no more liquid, you can gradually mix in the sugar.

    4. Add the remaining ingredients and mix until completely combined.

    5. Finally, transfer the sugar scrub into jars. For example, your empty sorbet or kaylabé balm jars 😉

Step 3: How to use it and get the most out of it?

    1. Start by taking a hot shower or bath to open pores, soften dead skin cells and prepare skin for exfoliation.

    2. Gently massage our exfoliating sugar body scrub with shea butter onto damp or wet skin using circular motions. Work your way down from the base of your neck to your feet.

    3. Use your hands to rinse thoroughly

Enjoy this wonderful scrub that will leave your skin softer and smoother; you can use it once a week.

There you go, you're now ready to enjoy this wonderful scrub that will leave your skin softer and smoother.
